Lonworks

Lonworks is a tried and true technology that has been used since the mid 1990's. JAMCO Controls, Inc. has used this technology since our founding in 2001. We started with Application Specific Controllers from Richard Zeta and Honeywell.

In 2003 and 2004, we began installing Distech's line of Lonworks devices, Easycontrols. Since those early days, we have seen Lonworks technology mature and emerge as the worldwide protocol for energy management, building automation, transportation, and public utilities.

JAMCO integrates Lonworks products in multi vendor peer to peer control networks every day! We have integrated equipment from McQuay, Carrier, Trane, York, and many other equipment manufacturers. We also use controllers from Honeywell, JCI, Distech, Circon, and Echelon on the same network on a regular basis.

We can the LNS (Lonworks Network Services) server for our integration and implementation tool so that our database structure is usable by all of the Lonworks Packages. That eliminates any messy OPC Servers or third party interpreters.
We can also wrap all of the Lon Devices in a Niagara 4 network and make it appear no different that BACNet Controls on the Front-end.

While BACNet appears to be winning the BAS Protocol wars there are way to many Lon Networks still being used to give up on Lon.  There are also a lot of peer to peer situation where Lon is still the best solution!
